WELCOME to Rio Grand Mule & Donkey
Association Newsletter Website! You will find all
Newsletters for 2010 on this website as they become
available.
Contact us at
RGMDA@eeebray.com
for any information about the newsletters.
If you would like to
continue to receive your newsletter via the mail,
please let us know.
Please send us pictures,
we love them!
Below are pictures from Elizabeth Moore's house in
the East Mountains showing what a difference a
couple months make. It's the same area, the left
taken in December, the right taken April 30.
WORDS FROM THE PRESIDENT
Here at our house it is finally turning to spring,
all of the trees are popping out, flowers are
blooming and tank heaters are put away ‘till fall.
The rattlesnakes are out also, we have had three in
our yard in the last week, one of which bit our
Cocker Spaniel on the nose. She pulled through just
fine; she sure was swollen up for a couple of days!
As of the 21st there were 61 membership
renewals for 2010. Our newest Corporate member is
Paul’s Veterinary Supply in Albuquerque. They have a
full line of vet supplies, supplements, tack,
farrier supplies and just about anything that you
will need. They also have provided prizes and cash
for show awards for the last few years. The next
time that you are in Albuquerque, stop in and see
David DeBorde, tell him that that you saw his card
in the newsletter.
On March 13th, six of the RGMDA members
entered the competitive trail challenge in Edgewood
at the Cedar Hill Farm Equestrian Center. Of the six
riders, four placed in the top ten, (out of a field
of 34 riders), and everyone completed the entire
course. Well done to all that participated. I feel
that this is a reflection of the time RGMDA members
spend with their animals and training they receive.
The proceeds from all of the American Competitive
Trail Horse Association events are donated to horse
rescues. See the website
www.actha.us for more information.
The Durfee Canyon Ranch Ride is June 19-21. Watch
for more details in the June Newsletter.
The next board meeting is May 21st at the
Copper Canyon Restaurant at 5400 Gibson in
Albuquerque. The meeting will start at 6:30; the
room is available at 5:30, so you can eat before the
meeting starts.
I
hope to see you all at one of the RGMDA events or
meetings this month.

pre-pay please!
Mary Randall announced that Good Samaritan Nursing
Home in Socorro is having Cowboy Days on May 12.
They would like animals (mini donkeys, goats ….) for
the seniors to see and pet.
The Board has decided to make the member contact
list available to members only. If you wish to “opt
out” of the list please do so soon as the list will
be available next month.

You will not receive a newsletter in May if you do
not renew.
